How to Use These Resources

  1. Download the PDF — Click any download button above. All files are high-resolution and print-ready.
  2. Print & photocopy — Print on standard letter paper (8.5×11″). Flashcards work best on cardstock. Posters should be printed at their labeled size.
  3. Introduce semordnilaps — Start with the poster or flashcards to explain what a semordnilap is: a word that spells a different real word backwards.
  4. Practice with puzzles — Use crosswords and word searches for individual seatwork. Mirror mazes add an extra layer of challenge.
  5. Play bingo as a class — Use the caller's sheet to read definitions aloud. Students mark the matching semordnilap on their unique cards.
